The staircases add some nice intricacy to the dollhouse. And they are not hard to make.

Make two of them.

Note that the staircase will not quite fit as we build it. That is ok. Build it to the size recommended and dry fit it then trim it to the right size. You will have to trim about 1/2 inch off it.

Start by making four of the stair wall sections. They are 8x8 inches and each step is one inch square. There will be no need to double layer these.

Glue on the stair tops. they are one inch by three inches.

It looks good.

Next we add the vertical sections of the stairs. these are flexible in their size but they are not three inches wide because they fit inside the stairs. Cut eight of these piece and start with one inch by three inches then trim them to size as needed.

And glue those vertical pieces on the inside of the stairwell. This will give the stairs their best look.

Okay. The stair is done. Make another stair set.

Check the fit and size of the stair case and trim it as needed.

Once you have a good fit cut away a three by three section of the second floor and glue the stair case into place.
