Make a Cardboard Dollhouse Part 9: The Front inner section

Now we work on the front section of the dollhouse. We add the various walls and floors.

Here is how it will look when completed.

Page 5 of the blueprints shows you all these parts, what size to cut them and where to install them.

Just as we did with the front half of the dollhouse measure 8 inches up from the floor and mark the walls. Then glue along that line 1/2 wide cardboard strips. Put those strips so their top edge is right on that eight inch line. These are the supports for the second floor.

Cut and install the second floor. It is composed of two sheets of cardboard with the corrugations going in opposite directions. It is glued right on top of thse support beams we just installed.

And as always cut it first and dry fit it. Trim and adjust it as needed before actually gluing it in.

Next cut out a 3 x3 inch hole in the front left corner of the second floor and glue in the staircase. Adjust and trim the staircase as needed for a smooth fit.

Cut and install the lower wall. This one is pretty easy. It is 8x8 inches and it has the larger doorway in it. Install it 8 inches from the stairwell.

Now let's add the closets on the second floor. These are pretty easy and they are all single cardboard sheets, not doubled up. Place the first one at 9 1/2 inches from the left wall. This first one has a door in it.

Next at 2 1/2 inches from that wall place a solid wall.

Finally at 2 1'2 inches from that one place the third closet wall. This one has a door cut in it.

And let's finish off the building of the dollhouse by installing the 5 x9 wall right over those three closet walls.

That's it. The internal sections of the dollhouse are done.
