Okay! Let's make the handle section and put the sword together.

Glue together those two sword lengths. Notice how it looks on the left end. This is perfect. This creates a sort of jigsaw puzzle that will allow us to create a strong bond to the handle.

There will be a little bit of mis-match around the edges of this two piece stack. You can smooth it out by trimming it with a knife and sandpapering it.

Now let's make the handle assembly

To make the handle we use the three sheets of the template that have the handle pieces.

Each sheet has the parts for a handle. Take this one sheet at a time. Cut out the two parts that make up the handle and tape them together.

Trace them onto your scraps of foamboard.

You should end up with four handle pieces like this. One with a triangular notch, one with a pyramidal notch and two of the template that kind of looks like a bat!

Now glue these pieces to the blade assembly.

Finish off the assembly with the bat shaped handle pieces. Glue one on top and glue the other on the bottom.
