So many web visitors have asked me to do this project! It took me a while but I finally got a chance to get it done! Yay!

It's a nice sword and I make it easy for you because I give you the template with all the sword pieces and even the art work.

And there is a fun bonus here in that Arnold is going to be making another Conan movie soon. It will be fun to see if he carries this sword again.

And the sword we make is a big one. It is almost four feet in length. Yet we assemble it from standard sheets of foamboard.

Will's Tip on Cutting Foam board: Don't try to cut all the way through it in one swipe. Use a really sharp blade and make three passes. the first pass just cuts the top layer of paper. The second pass cuts the foam and the third pass cuts through the bottom layer of paper.

About this build: This is a fun and easy build. You just need two sheets of foamboard that you can buy at walmart or amazon. And, it is a big two-handed sword which is imposing and fun. But we build it in a way that makes it strong. You can swing it and use it. It's a great prop for cosplay or to take to a con. And it won't take you long to make it. I give you the template and all the artwork.

Tools and Materials For this project:

• Two sheets of foamboard - You can buy sheets of foamboard at any arts and crafts store and Walmart carries it in the department with office supplies. Amazon has it here: (Elmer's Foam Board) (Get the size that is 20"x30")
• An x-acto knife (Wills favorite is here)
• Some type of glue, can be a glue gun, white glue or spray adhesive (Will's favorite Glue Gun is here)
• Some type of glue for paper, can be a glue stick or spray adhesive
• Paint: Silver
• Pencils/markers: (optional) Gold, black, Black sharpie,
• The template (right here)
• Mod Podge (Optional) here
• A small amount of sandpaper (optional)

Let's Build it!

This build is in two parts. First we make the blade part. And then we attach the handle part to it.

Start with these four pages of the template. On it are labeled parts 1,2,3, A and B.

Cut out these five pieces. And tape together pieces 1, 2 and 3. These three make up the blade.

Notice the two more parts above. Those are A and B. Cut those out.

Now tape Part A to the 1-2-3 like this.

Place that template diagonally on a sheet of foamboard and trace it. Then cut it out.

Save the scraps of foamboard you cut away. We are going to need them.

Now remove Part A from the template and tape part B on. And repeat the process of putting it diagonally on a sheet of foamboard, tracing it and cutting it out.

Now we have two blade pieces.
