How to Make the Kirkhammer from Bloodborne - Part 3: the sword

In this part of the tutorial we make the sword.

 

Part 1 of this tutorial is here

 

In the template are the parts for the sword. They are W,X, Y and Z. Tape them together to form the sword profile like this.

Layout the template

 

Place template on foam

Place that sword template on foamboard or cardboard and trace it. then cut it out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cut out the shape

Then use that sword as a template to trace out and cut out four more. You need a total of five of these. We want a good strong sword so it can hold up the hammer!

The five sword layers.

 

 

 

 

 


Glue the pieces

Glue them together.

 

 

 

 

 

Trim it

Clean up the stack of sword layers once the glue has set. Use a hobby knife and some sand paper.

 

 

 

 

 

Check for fit

Now we have the sword and we can check and modify the fit into the hammer handle.
