Make Xena's Chakrams
The chakrams are an interesting weapon that you throw. Kind of like a frisbee with blades on it. They are actually a real weapon that has been used for centuries in India. And they are also a weapon that Xena used in the television show. This is a fun and easy project that you can make in no time at all. And I give you the templates to make three different versions of it.

First off let me just show you a bit about how I designed this. Using a compass is a great idea, if you have one. It makes things so much easier! And, I have divided the chakram up into nine sections because there are nine ornaments evenly spaced on it. The compass makes this easy also.
The Math of it:
To divide a circle into nine equal portions you use a simple formula.
First get the circumference of the circle by multiplying the radius by 6.28
That number is then divided by nine. Now you have the distance between the nine segments. Set your compass to that length.
But you don't have to worry about any of that because I have the templates all ready for you. Everything is laid out. You just have to trace.
Select which chakram you want to make. Here are the three in the template.
Each chakram has two sheets. One of the sheets has a dashed line on it. Cut along that line. That is the only template cut you have to make.
Now place that piece up against the other half and tape them together.
Now place that template on foamboard or cardboard and trace the outer and inner circles with a ball point pen. Press down firmly. This will leave an indent in the foamboard that you can see and trace.
Once you are done with the circles you can lift the paper and see the indents.
