In this part of the tutorial we finish off the sword by painting it.

Part 1 of this tutorial (the beginning) is right here.

Paint the whole sword black and let it dry.

Then paint the handle brown.

Now dry brush some brown onto the rest of the sword which includes the blade, the hilt and the pommel.

Dry brushing is a technique for getting just a little bit of spotty paint on the item. You dab the brush in the paint then wipe most of it off on a surface. Then you lightly and quickly brush over the sword. It only leaves a little bit of brown.

Then you do the same dry brushing technique with silver. But make it a little thicker with a bit more paint so it looks like this. Wonderful how the medium gel you applied shows up as wonderful details.
