This is a big, multi-level diorama Stephen made and it is scaled to fit action figures.

He uses a lot of XPS foam which is one of my favorite crafting materials. I use it a lot in my dioramas.

Some things to note about this diorama is how useful this kind of foam it. It is strong enough for a two story diorama yet easy enough to carve and get great detail out of.

He tells us the materials he used to make this diorama:

• Insulation Foam board
• Dollhouse Door Frame
• Craft sticks for window frames
• Clear acrlyic sheets for broken windows
• Revearsable Floor, one side with pattern made from scrapbooking paper, the other with carved wood flooring design
• Removable Staircase
• Felt for the carpet on the upper floor
• Dollhouse ceiling fixture rewired to a battery pack on the rooftop, covered by Central AC unit made from cellfoam.

Hot Wire Foam Cutter

(This is the exact one that Will uses) The Hot Wire Foam Cutter has adjustable collars allowing for clean, accurate cuts in foam. Woodland Scenics recommends using only on SubTerrain white foam which emits no toxic fumes. Use only special nichrome replacement wire. The throat of the Hot Wire Foam Cutter is 4.5" wide by 5.5" deep. Input: 120VAC and Output: 9VAC, 1300mA.
