Twenty Thousand Leagues under the sea

Here is another wonderful diorama made by Joseph. He has made dioramas before and you can check them out here: Joseph's Dioramas

He tells us about it:

I hope all is well. Here are pictures from my diorama of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, to celebrate the 187th anniversary of Jules Verne's Birthday in February. It Is on display at the local bookstore.

It is 5.5 feet long by 2.5 feet wide, and features several key events from the book. Included are the eruption of an undersea volcano, a funeral on the ocean floor, salvaging treasure from a shipwreck, viewing the lost city of Atlantis, and the epic giant squid attack on the Nautilus.

Here is the diorama:

And here it is in the bookstore window

Here is a look at the giant squid attacking the Nautilus.

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (Dover Thrift Editions)

The "man who invented the future," French novelist Jules Verne fanned mankind's desire to explore earth's hidden territories. His prophetic 1870 adventure novel, featuring a fabulous underwater craft commanded by the brilliant and mysterious Captain Nemo, predated the deep-water submarine.
Weaving amazing scientific achievements with simple, everyday occurrences, this memorable tale brims with detailed descriptions of a futuristic vessel and bizarre scenes of life on the ocean's bottom. On-board travelers view Red Sea coral, wrecks of a historic naval battle, Antarctic ice shelves, and the fictional Atlantis. In addition, they confront a giant squid and belligerent cannibals, among other rousing adventures.

War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds diorama goes to the bookstore

Making a diorama is the best thing about it. The second best thing is showing it to people. And getting your diorama into a public place gives a wonderful feeling. Well... Joseph's War of the Worlds diorama is now on display in the window of a bookstore. Check out the pictures here.

The Moonbase Monorail

Here is a fun science fiction diorama on a pretty good scale. It was made by Joseph who has submitted some other wonderful dioramas. Check it out here: The Moonbase Monorail diorama
