Airplanes in a Dogfight

This project was built and submitted by a web visitor (Glen) and my thanks go out to him for this great contribution. This is a dogfight scene. It is a Dogfight doubles by Airfix of a Messerschmitt Me262A and De HAvilland Mosquito FB.V1.

Airfix makes this neat series of plane kits where you can build the two planes and it comes with the stand so you can set them up in a dogfight. Usually the kit often contains other things like paints. It's a nice way to get more than one military model and get a unique way to display them! Underneath the pictures I have included some specific links to some of these on amazon.com if you want to check them out!

Here is a picture of the completed diorama!

An Airfix Doubles Diorama

And here is one of the airplanes in the process of having the glue dry. Notice how he is using rubber bands? Do you think the air force does it the same way? And if so, where do you suppose they get rubber bands that big?

Here is a look at the De Havilland Mosquito.

And here is the Messerschmidt

Here is a look at the completed camouflage paint job on the Mosquito before the decals have been applied. I am not 100% positive but it looks like Glen followed the authentic camouflage pattern.

European Cafe

Glen has also built and submitted another terrific military diorama. This is a battle scene at a destroyed European Cafe. He gives us some great tips on how to make it look realistic. The European Cafe diorama
